We’ve Got a Venue
Not a photograph.
We’ve chosen The Columns Hotel to be the venue for both our ceremony and our reception. It’s a grand old hotel and a real feature of the Garden District in New Orleans.
The Columns is on the St. Charles Streetcar Line ( a short 10 minute ride either to the French Quarter or our house on Cherokee Street.) A cab ride from Louis Armstrong International Airport (MSY) to the hotel runs about $40. Many of New Orleans attractions are accessible by streetcar or on foot.
We’ve blocked off all 20 rooms at The Columns for everyone to book. So far, about half remain available. If you’re interested in booking a room, get the phone number from the link below and tell the receptionist that you’re part of the Gendron/Wakeling wedding. They can get you all the info you need. The Columns is a historic hotel, if you’re looking for something more contemporary, New Orleans offers a bunch of other options. The Best Western (St. Charles) and the Hampton Inn (St. Charles) are within a few blocks of The Columns.
We’re Engaged!
Us, in Rome
This is a little bit of a late announcement. If you’re here, reading this post, you probably already heard the news. I thought it would be good to start at the beginning.
We were engaged on the harbor in Vernazza, Italy, but this is a good pic of us in Rome a few days later.
So, now that this is out of the way, lets get on with the other details!
